How to Play Oz Lotto
Oz Lotto requires you to select seven numbers between 1 and 47. You can play a marked entry, where you choose your own numbers, or a Quick Pick if you prefer a random selection. Alternatively, there are a variety of System and Pick entries that give you more opportunities to win, although you have to pay for each individual combination.
You can play up to 10 consecutive draws with a Multi-Week entry, or pick a future draw up to 10 weeks in advance without having to play every week in the intervening period.
Ticket sales close at 7:30pm AEST, with the Oz Lotto draw time approximately an hour later at 8:30pm. The Lotto results consist of seven main winning numbers and three supplementary numbers. These 'supps' are drawn from the 40 balls left in the machine after the first seven have been selected.
How to Win
You win Oz Lotto prizes by matching the numbers you have selected to the numbers that are drawn. You need to get all seven main numbers to win Division 1, but there are six other ways to win. You even get a prize if you match three of the seven main numbers, and one of the supplementaries.
The Division 1 prize starts at $3 million and jackpots to the next draw if nobody wins, so it can quickly grow into the tens of millions of dollars.
